Race Rules

1.INTRODUCTION

1.1. Rules will be valid during Türk Telekom ISTANBUL 24h BOOSTRACE event.

1.2. All athletes who register at Türk Telekom ISTANBUL 24h BOOSTRACE are deemed to have accepted these rules.

1.3. Each team and participant must check the race content given to them in the registration area, and report any mistakes in their personal information to the race management.

2. RACE CATEGORIES

2.1 Individual Category Categories are determined by gender and number of competitors. The rating will be ranked by the distance ridden on the track.

2.2 Corporate Category Teams with a corporate name, product, brand or service in the team name are included in the corporate category. Team name cannot be used in this format without being included in the corporate category. Teams competing in the corporate category are subject to a fee of 10.000 TL+VAT (not registration fees). Categories are determined by gender and number of competitors. The rating will be determined by the distance traveled on the track. Teams competing in the corporate category will also be evaluated in the team categories. In order for teams competing in the corporate category to be rated in the corporate category, team members must be employees of the institution or group companies. 3. COMPETITORS

3.1. Türk Telekom ISTANBUL 24h BOOSTRACE is organized as solo, teams of 2, 4 and 6 people. Licensed and unlicensed T.C. It is open to all foreign nationals as well as nationals. Contestants must be over the age of 18.

3.2 Competitors holding the current year's license issued by the Turkish Cycling Federation will be deemed to have passed the necessary health check.

3.3 Unlicensed athletes must declare a health report that they can compete. The report must not be older than 1 year from the race date.

3.4 Foreign participants (whether a member of a federation or not) must submit a medical report stating that they can compete. According to subject 3.6, foreign participants will be checked on the UCI site. Contrary to Article 3.6, the athlete may be disqualified even while the race is in progress.

3.5 Athletes who have been banned from doping in the last 5 years are prohibited from participating.

3.6 Pro athlete participation: A maximum of 1 pro athlete can be included in teams of 4 or 6 . Pro athletes can't participate in solo or team of 2. Pro athlete: An athlete who has point in pro, pro-continental, continental and any cycling discipline in the last 2 years and/or who has worn/wearing the national jersey of his country.

4.TEAM CAPTAIN

4.1 Except for solo participation, each team has to choose 1 team captain from team.

4.2 The only person to contact the Organizer will be the team captain. The team captain will be referred to by the team name determined by the team.

4.3 The team captain is responsible for the registration and payments of all team members from the team registration form on istanbul24h.com

4.4 Team Captain is responsible for documents such as identity, license and health report submitted during registration. These documents must be valid until the race day and the end of the race. The team must receive the race kit by presenting these documents to the registration desk.

4.5 On the event day, all team members must be at the registration desk along with the Team Captain.

5. BOOSTERS

5.1 Booster is the person who is selected to support the team and who is allowed to enter the areas reserved for the athletes during the race. It could be a friend, coach or family member. It will be with you to help you with food needs, technical support, rehabilitation. The Booster must wear the Booster wristband.

5.2 Each team is entitled to 1 Booster. No prior registration is required for Boosters. Booster wristband will be given along with the race kits on the event day.

6. BIKE, HELMET AND EQUIPMENT

6.1. General

6.1.1 Each participant is responsible for the safety of his own bicycle. Make sure that the brake and other components are working properly.

6.1.2. Athletes who are decided to have participated in the race with a bicycle that does not comply with the rules will be removed from the race and will be disqualified.

6.2 Helmet It is mandatory for all athletes to wear helmets (in EU standards) during the race and in the change area. Athletes may remove their helmets only after making the change. Drivers who do not comply with these rules will be immediately disqualified.

6.3 Lighting

6.3.1 It is mandatory to have a white lighting lamp in front of the bicycle and a red stop lamp behind the bicycle, and it must be turned on until the morning light, together with the dark.

6.3.2 The requirement will be valid from the start of the track illumination lights until they are turned off.

6.3.3 Athletes competing with a bicycle without lights or lights will be disqualified from the race.

6.4 Types of bikes:

6.4.1 In race, using of road/racing bikes is not mandatory. However, in terms of the speed and type of the race, it is recommended that the participants prefer road/racing bikes.

6.4.2 Mountain bikes, gravel or similar bikes may be used in racing. If you choose to participate in the race with a mountain bike or a city bike, please consider factors such as average speed, time limits, safety.

6.5 Prohibited: The bikes and components listed below are prohibited for use in racing: – Triathlon type handlebars and aero bars – Electric bikes – Tandem bikes

6.6 Headphone use – Wearing headphones is only allowed for communication with a teammate, the use of MP3 players and similar devices is prohibited. Double-ear headphones are prohibited. Headphones can be worn in one ear.

7. RACE – TÜRK TELEKOM ISTANBUL 24H BOOSTRACE

7.1 Technical meeting will be online on instagram @istanbul24hboostrace account. Recording of it will be sent to email address registered on website.

7.2 Back Number, Chip and Race wristband

7.2.1 Back Number: Every athlete on the track must wear his back number visibly.

7.2.2 Chip: It must be worn under the seat and returned at the end of the race (penalty fee is 100€ if not returned).

7.2.3 Race wristband: Team member competing in each team must wear the race wristband during his/her stay on the track. Laps without a racing wristband will not be counted. The team member competing on the track hands over the racing wristband to another teammate during the change in the pit area.

7.3 Track The entire track is constantly monitored and recorded with cameras. Only the competitors have the right to enter the track. No motor vehicle other than the organization or medical personnel has the right to access the track. It is forbidden to follow the competitors on the track in any way (by bicycle, running, motor). It is forbidden to go out of the track determined by Intercity Istanbul Park. External roads, safety areas can only be used for emergency stops.

7.4 Lighting When it gets dark, certain parts of the track will be lighted. The opening and closing times of the lights are at the discretion of the organizer.

7.5 Starts

7.5.1 TEAM TOUR starts with all competitors at the times specified in the program. During the Team Lap, the race car leads, overtaking is prohibited. When the Team Lap is complete, all athletes exit the pit area.

7.5.2 At the times specified in the program, the first competitors of the teams take the starting order. The race start will be given at exactly 14:00.

7.5.3 The start time may change depending on the weather conditions.

7.6 General riding Rules

7.6.1 Participants shall not hinder the passing of other competitors, block their path or force them to go off-road. They will avoid contact with other participants as much as possible. Physically pulling or pushing another athlete for an individual or common interest will be punished according to the penalty clauses, except in mandatory situations. Likewise, stopping suddenly, changing the lane suddenly, or stopping for no reason at the start of the race will be penalized with a warning by the referees. The competitor who receives 2 warnings will be disqualified.

7.6.2 The exchange of food and drink between the competitors is allowed.

7.6.3. It is mandatory to carry all kinds of waste, including garbage or used flasks and water bottles, to the pit area; It is forbidden to leave the track area and its surroundings and is a reason for disqualification.

7.7 Mechanical support

7.7.1 In the event of a mechanical problem or puncture, the athlete may repair himself or seek assistance from competing athletes. It is not possible to change bikes on the track.

7.7.2 In the exchange area, athletes can get support from their teammates.

7.7.3 The organization does not provide any mechanical support.

7.8 Problematic Situations

7.8.1 If the athlete cannot make the necessary repairs as a result of a mechanical problem or a tire burst, he must reach the pit area. If the competitor needs to walk, he does not use the track, he must use the service road.

7.8.2 In the event of an accident requiring the intervention of healthcare professionals, the race doctor will decide whether the athletes can continue the race.

7.8.3 When the race doctor detects a suspicious situation regarding the health of the athlete in his behavior and movements, he may invite him for examination and may deprive the athlete from the race if he diagnoses a risky situation.

7.9 Withdrawal from the race

7.9.1 If an athlete withdraws from the race or is seriously injured, the referees will return the race wristband to the referee's table. A teammate can take the race bracelet from the referee's table and continue the race on behalf of the team.

7.9.2 In case of serious damage, the bicycle will be returned to the pit area by the organization vehicle.

7.9.3 If the competitor is on the track with mechanical problems, health conditions, etc. If he has to leave the race for reasons, he has to wait for the organization car.

7.10 Sign in the track The track area is closely monitored by cameras. Necessary teams are dispatched when the following signs are detected.

7.10.1 Help sign: Raise right arm.

7.10.2 Emergency situation: Raising both hands above the head and waving it up and down.

7.11 Riding in the night

7.11.1 During the night part of the race, the athletes must use the bicycle front and rear light. The rules written in article 6.3 of the rules apply.

7.11.2 Race officials may impose penalties when these rules are not followed.

7.12 Changes

7.12.1 The change has to be made only along the green painted lane where the pit area is located. In the exchange area, only the athlete who is waiting for his teammate who is competing on the track can be found.

7.12.2 For a change, the athlete competing on the track must enter the pit area and stand in front of the garage where his team is located, in the change area. The change takes place when the athlete who leaves the track delivers his racing wristband to his teammate who will race on the track.

7.12.3 Teams are free when it comes to race strategy and change management.

7.12.4 The speed of the athletes in the exchange area will be automatically controlled by the chips. The maximum speed between the measurement areas at the beginning and end of the area was determined as 20 km per hour.

7.12.5 Teams exceeding the speed limit will be subject to a 5 minute delay. The athlete who is penalized will be stopped in the next lap and directed to the pit area and a 5 minute penalty will be applied.

7.12.6 Only athletes registered for the race can exchange and compete. If otherwise found, the team will be disqualified from the race.

7.13 Finish

7.13.1 The “Finish signal” will be given exactly 24 hours after the start, by waving checkered flags. The race will be complete for the contestants after the checkered flag has been waved and they have completed their lap and crossed the finish line.

7.13.2 A safety car will follow the last driver and ensure that all competitors leave the track.

8. RANKING AND RESULTS

8.1 Rankings by category will be based on distance ridden.

8.1.1 If the distances rode are the same, the rating is based on the team's total time.

8.2 In case the race is stopped, the results will be determined according to the order 30 minutes before the decision is made.

8.3 All results will be published on the official www.istanbul24h.com website at the end of the race.

9. PODIUM

9.1 The top 3 teams in all team categories, the fastest man/woman will qualify for the podium. In the corporate category, teams of 4 and 6 will be on the podium as women/men/mixed.

9.2 Prizes will be determined by the sponsors.    

10. PENALTIES AND CONTROLS

10.1. General

10.1.1 Penalties for violations are given only by the race committee.

10.1.2 Penalties are specified in Section 10.2. and will be applied without exception.

10.1.3 The race committee is also authorized to impose penalties for violations not included in the list below. The appropriate penalty will be determined by the committee.

10.1.4 Controls will be made by stable and motorized referees throughout the race.

10.1.5 They are responsible for all athletes competing within the scope of sportsmanship. Penal provisions for unsportsmanlike behavior will be determined by the level of risk they pose.

10.1.6 The refereeing committee has the power to impose penalties up to disqualification in case of cheating, and they have the possibility to change the standings.

10.2. Penalty List In terms of the health of the organization and the safety of the participants, the following penalty scales will be applied:

10.2.1 Deception of the organizer by participating under a false name or competing with someone else's chip: Disqualification and a fine of 10,000 TL

10.2.2 Professional athlete's participation in the race: Dismissal from the race, removal of the name from the list of results and ban from the race for 5 years.

10.2.5 Fighting with competitors or other persons: Disqualification and suspension for 5 years.

10.2.6 Intentionally dangerous riding: Disqualification and suspension for 2 years.

10.2.7 Barrier closed and ground crossing violation: Disqualification and suspension for one year.

10.2.8 Racing a bike against the racing rules: Disqualification

10.2.9 To race without a helmet or to remove one in a race: Disqualification

10.2.10 Lack of race number or time chip: Disqualification

10.2.11 Using a road other than the designated Track: Disqualification

10.3 '5 Minutes' hold penalty: In the event of the following errors, the team will be penalized for 5 minutes. If the same mistake is repeated 3 times, the team will be disqualified.

10.3.1 Acting before the starting whistle,

10.3.2 Violation of maximum speed in the pit area (20km average)

10.3.3 Competition condition without receiving the racing wristband,

10.3.4 Getting help from a teammate outside the exchange area

10.4 Penalties and errors are not individual but cost the whole team.

11. COMPLAINTS AND OBJECTIONS

11.1 Complaints and objections must be submitted in writing to the referee's desk within 15 minutes after the end of the race.  

12. REGISTRATION OF RULE VIOLATIONS AND OBJECTIONS

12.1 The organization and race committee will record the rule violations in the start, race time and finish area.

12.2 Violations will be recorded and retained in the “Violation List” form.

12.3 Participants will submit any rule violations they witness or their objections regarding their race times to the organizing committee by completing the “appeal form” available at the race office and attaching possible evidence. At the end of the race, the objections will be examined by the organizing committee and the decision will be notified to the relevant parties.

13. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

13.1 The team registration form must be done in at istanbul24h.com. There is no registration by phone or mail.

13.2 It is possible to choose Turkish or English language for recording. Only the Turkish «Racing Rules» have contract value. The English version is informative.

13.3 Registration is not transferable. It is not possible to register on the day of the race.

13.4 The team captain must fill in everyone's information on behalf of the entire team and make the all payment on behalf of everyone. Otherwise, the registration file will be considered incomplete and the registration will be considered canceled 1 month before the race date. Registrations will be approved after the organization checks that all information and documents are complete.

14. PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEES

Payment of the registration fees will be made by the Team Captain, together with the fees of all team members, on the istanbul24h.com website. THE AMOUNT OF TL WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE EURO AMOUNT ON THE REGISTRATION DATE. MERKEZ BANKASI DAILY EURO SALES RATE IS REFERENCE.

15. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION OF RACE AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

15.1 Cancellation by Team Captain

15.1.1 For cancellations made until August 16 (inclusive) 2023, 20% no show fee will be deducted and the remaining amount will be refunded. In cancellation and refund transactions, the TL equivalent of the payment made on the registration date is taken as a reference, and the refunds are calculated over this amount.

15.1.2 For cancellations after 16 August 2023, 100% no show fee is applied, no refund after that date.

16. KIT DELIVERY

16.1 Race kits will be delivered from the registration desk in the reception area at the times specified in the program on the race day. All athletes must be present at the purchase of the race kit.

16.2 Team Captain is responsible for documents such as identity, license and health report submitted during registration. These documents must be valid until the race day and the end of the race. The team must receive the race kit by presenting these documents to the registration desk.

17. AREAS

17.1 Areas: Track, Pit (Exchange area), Garages, Lodges, Festival Area, Recreation Area, parking lot.

17.2 No vehicles other than the organizer or security/health personnel are allowed to enter the Pit, Garages, Festival Area and Track.

17.3 Tracks, Pits, Garages and Lodges are open to competitors and boosters only.

17.4 Recreation Area: Competitors, boosters, their families and relatives can use the area reserved for rest in the Parking Lot. You can come to the rest area by caravan. The rest area is not reserved and participants can park in the area they see fit for them as they arrive.

17.5 Garages and Lodges:

17.6 Garages and Lodges: Teams will be placed in garages and lodges to be determined by the organizers. Which area the teams will use will be specified on the delivery of the race kit.

17.7 Garage and Lodge areas are in common use for all teams, but are marked according to the number of each team. There is no place reservation, on the race day, the teams can choose the empty spaces according to the number of teams. (Example: My 4-person team must choose from the areas designated as 4-person)

17.8 Since the Garages and Lodges are considered as common areas, it is necessary to be in harmony with the shared teams.

17.9 It is not allowed to use stove-barbecue in all areas.

17.10 Teams can hang the posters of their sponsors, companies and teams without damaging the pit area.

17.11 Teams can bring portable campers, chairs, tables, trainers to the Garages and Lounges during the race for rest and preparation (without disturbing the other teams).

17.12 Electricity areas have been created at certain points in the Garages and Lodges.

17.13 Festival Area

17.14 The Festival Area is open to all competitors and visitors at night during the entire event (including night).

17.15 We sincerely hope that all competitors and visitors will not damage the Festival area and help keep it clean during the race and before leaving.

17.16 Track

17.17 It is forbidden to throw garbage inside the runway and use it as a toilet. If the opposite is encountered, the necessary penalty will be applied.

17.18 The use of glass bottles is prohibited on the track and in the Festival area.

17.19 Competitors are responsible for any damage they may cause.      

18. FOOD

18.1 Each team is responsible for their own food supply, they can make use of the various stands in the fairground.

19. FIRST AID AND SAFETY

19.1 First aid workers and medical personnel are present throughout the event.

19.2 In addition to the officials and organization vehicles that ensure race safety, Istanbul Park official security cameras are also used.

20. CCTV-IMAGE-REPRODUCTION RIGHTS

20.1 While registering for the event, each participant is deemed to have given permission for the use of these images in all kinds of fields (photographs, videos, television, cinema, flyers, internet, billboards) for a period of ten years from the date they were taken.

20.2 Each participant further acknowledges and agrees that a drone may fly over them and take video and photographs to be used to promote the event.

20.3 Each participant is also deemed to have approved and given permission for the information he provided during registration to be filed electronically. Each participant may request that their account be changed or deleted at any time. No information is passed on to event partners without your consent.

21. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY – BRANDS

21.1 « ISTANBUL 24h BOOSTRACE » is a registered trademark of Boost Sport. Boost Spor Organization Inc. Use without permission is prohibited.

22. RESPONSIBILITIES

22.1 Türk Telekom ISTANBUL 24h BOOSTRACE organization Boost Spor Organizasyon A.Ş. is responsible for the event.

22.2 Any negative situation (accident, injury, collision, etc.) that the participants may encounter during the event is the participant's own responsibility.

22.3 Each athlete is responsible for the equipment they bring to the race.

22.4 The team captain is responsible for the information and records he made on behalf of the competitors and the race chip delivered to him.

22.5 Player changes in teams must be notified to the organization. Athletes who make undeclared changes are responsible for the accidents and problems that may happen to them within the organization.

22.6 A person who has transferred the race number to a third party or changed it without prior notice to the organizer will be held liable in the event of an accident that occurred during the event or caused by the latter.

22.7 Likewise, the Organizer disclaims all liability in the event of an accident occurring and/or caused by any person who is not registered fraudulently or with a number that does not comply with these rules.

22.8 The Organizer may hold the team captain and the non-valid registered driver liable if a lawsuit is filed against him.

22.9 The responsibility of the garage, lodge and resting areas provided to the athlete belongs to the athlete, the organization cannot be held responsible for the loss and damage of belongings.

23. MODIFICATION AND CANCELLATION BY THE ORGANIZER

23.1 Boost Spor Organization Inc. reserves the right to change, cancel and postpone the procedures of the race under any circumstances.

24. CHANGING THE RULES

24.1 Boost Spor Organization Inc. has the right to decide or arbitrate any situation not considered in the current rules.

24.2 Boost Spor Organization Inc. make the necessary changes to the rules.

25. PERSONAL DATA

25.1 Please note that some information is mandatory and necessary to run the organization. Failure to respond to a required field may compromise proper tracking of your file.

25.2 Notified personal information Boost Spor Organizasyon A.Ş. saved by computer.

25.3 Your personal information is kept for a period not exceeding 2 years, not exceeding 2 years. 26. INVALIDITY OF ARTICLE OF THE CONTRACT

26.1 If any of the provisions of this Agreement is cancelled, this invalidity.

26.2 It does not necessitate the invalidity of other provisions of the Contract that will remain in effect between the parties.

27. INDEPENDENCE OF THE PARTIES

27.1 Neither Party may make a commitment on behalf of and/or on behalf of the other Party.

27.2 Each Party is solely responsible for its claims, commitments, services, products and personnel.

28. OUR DISCLAIMERS

28.1 Participants who have registered for Türk Telekom ISTANBUL 24h BOOSTRACE voluntarily or through their team captains are deemed to have accepted the rules of the competition and the changes that can be made in these rules. The organization cannot be held responsible for material and moral damages and accidents caused or suffered by the participants.
